Test administration changes coming January 2, 2024 - Association of Social Work Boards (aswb.org)

• ASWB is partnering with PSI for test administration beginning January 2, 2024.

• Beginning January 2, 2024, all testing will occur at PSI test centers. You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the PSI testing platform.

• Exam registrations with ASWB will continue, but no testing appointments will be available between December 16 and December 31. Candidates who register November 1 or later will schedule an appointment to test at a PSI test center.

• If you would prefer to test with Pearson VUE by December 15, 2023, schedule your exam early. Testing appointments in late 2023 are limited and are filling faster than usual.

•  If you have an appointment with Pearson VUE and want to reschedule to test with PSI:

  • The registration expiration date in your Authorization to test email from ASWB must not expire in 2023.

  • You must follow the cancellation guidelines in the ASWB Examination Guidebook to avoid forfeiting your examination fee.

  • The cancellation policy will remain the same with PSI.

  • You will be able to schedule an appointment with PSI after January 2, 2024. (please see next bullet)

• If a test-taker has registered before Nov 1 and is currently eligible to test with Pearson VUE, but they cannot find an appointment or do not want to test with PV, their data will be sent to PSI during the black out period (Dec 16-Dec 31). These candidates will receive an update ATT from ASWB and Welcome email from PSI by January 2.

  • It is a hard no if a candidate asks for their data to be moved to PSI before Jan 2 so they can schedule early. These candidates must either test with PV or wait until January 2nd.

  • Candidates should not be provided PSI’s scheduling contact number before Jan 2. They will receive this information in their ATT email Jan 2. Candidates should be referred to the PSI/ASWB portal: https://test-takers.psiexams.com/aswb. Candidates can look at open availability here before they are able to schedule Jan 2.

    • Looking for centers/ Availability before registration

      • Go to Test Development, Multi-Modal Delivery & Security | PSI (http://psiexams.com )

      • Select “I’m a test taker.”

      • Search for ASWB
        a. Select Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)

      • Select “Check for Available Dates”

      • Select the Exam Level

      • Select “Continue”

      • You can then enter the location information and hit “FIND.”
        a. Once a location is found, you can select the “View Available Time Slots” to bring up the Calendar View

• The Exam webpage has also been updated with ASWB’s updated PSI information: Exam - Association of Social Work Boards (aswb.org)

• If you are unable to test before your registration expiration date and your board approval allows it, you may request an extension.

• The exam questions and scoring will remain the same, no matter when you take the exam.

• Online testing will be offered later. ASWB will notify all registered test-takers about online testing availability and technical requirements when this option becomes available.

• PSI remote inquiries –

  • While our new partnership with PSI will allow us to offer online testing later in 2024, we have no date yet. We will notify all registered test-takers about online testing availability and technical requirements when this option becomes available.

• If a candidate inquires if PSI can accommodate them, and it is a “standard” NSTA:

  • They are equipped to accommodate your existing nonstandard testing arrangements.
