English Language Learners.

 

All ESL/ELL applications must be obtained by contacting the non-standard testing arrangements team by email or ext. 3250 and requesting the application.

  • Since all states do not allow ELL accommodations, application form not available on website.

    • DocuSign is provided

  • Must be done before registration.

  • Depending on state, we can only provide:

    • Extra time and/or use of dictionaries.

    • Exam is only in English.

    • CA - Time and a half ONLY (effective 10/1/2017)

  • Candidates are responsible for bringing own word to word translation dictionary.

  • ELL accommodations do not expire within the same jurisdictions.

    • Candidates must reapply if changing jurisdictions only.

 States that DO NOT allow ELL for testing

  • MI, & NY do not provide ELL accommodations and will not accept score transfers for candidates that tested with ELL arrangements.

If candidate has questions about ELL nonstandard testing arrangements:

  • Specialist can advise to candidate whether a state accepts ELL or not.

  • You can contact the ESL nonstandard testing arrangement coordinators by email at specialarrangements2@aswb.org.

  • Phone call meetings can be arranged by email specialarrangements@aswb.org. or with ext. 3250.
