How do I add notes to a test case?

The test cases documented in Confluence are meant to search as the template for users completing user acceptance testing. In order to document testing results, provide feedback, or notify IT of issues encountered, the user should export the approrpiate test cases prior to beginning any testing.

How do I export a test case?

After accessing the page containing the test case you wish to export.

  1. In the upper righthand corner of the page, click on the three dots

  2. Click on the “Export” menu option

  3. Click on the “Export to Word” option.

Depending on your system preferences the Word document will be downloaded or opened in Word automatically.

How do I report feedback/issues when during a test?

Ideally, users should update the exported test case with the specific information used to allow the development team the best opportunity for addressing the feedback/issue. This includes:

  1. Replace data in the test column with the specific data used.

  2. Update the “Actual Result” column with the appropriate data. If reporting an error, or feedback on a visual issue, please include a full screenshot of the webpage/application in this field

  3. If reporting an issue, make sure the “Status” column reflects which step(s) failed

  4. Use the notes column to provide feedback or additional data you feel is necessary for the development team to know.

  5. Save the document with the filename in this formation “Reason - Test Number - Reporter.docx” where

    1. Reason is either Feedback, Failure,

    2. Test Number is the id number found in the top box of the test case documentation

    3. Reporter is the name of the individual reporting the issue.

  6. All reports should be verified by the Business lines designation POC for the testing before it is sent to the development team.

  7. Create a Jira ticket for the Feedback/Failure report using the “Testing Feedback” request type.

The test case asks me for the “version/change set” tested against, where do I find this?

ASWB websites

If the test case applies to an ASWB website, you will find the version at the bottom of the page.

ASWBCentral Desktop

You do not need to provide the version / change set information when you are testing the ASWBCentral desktop application as the software will always update to the latest version on Launch

Delphi Legacy Applications

The version / change set information for Delphi legacy applications like LAP Manager, crcApprovals, Registry, etc. can be located in the lower status bar after logging into the system.

Other sites/applications

In certain cases, you may be asked to test a website or application not listed here. When this occurs, the development team will provide you with either the specific information to enter on the test case document, or will provide you instructions on locating the version information.
