Address user issue with entering SSN in ASWBCentral

A user may contact ASWB indicating that they are receiving an error indicating that the Social Security Number they have entered is invalid. Although the user re-enters the value to meet the documented requirements (9- numbers long, no dashes or spaces), the user is unable to proceed.

This issue is due to a synchronization issue within the database with the value entered and a previously stored version of the encrypted data.

Instructions

  1. Delete all text from the Social Security number question

  2. With the Social Security question field empty, click the “Next” button at the bottom of the page.

  3. The screen will refresh and show an error message

  4. Click the Save & Quit button at the bottom of the page

  5. Open the application again in your browser

  6. Enter your Social Security Number again, without dashes and press the next button

  7. The error message regarding an incorrect Social Security Number value should no longer be displayed.

The steps above were written with the intent for staff to copy and paste them directly into an email communication for the applicant.
